Journal — scattered thoughts

Keep noticing the same pattern outside work too: reading groups, open-source projects, even the condo board — a group has a real conversation, something shifts, and then a few months later it's as if it never happened, because nothing durable came out of the conversation itself. The individuals learned something, but the group's shared position didn't move.

That's actually the same shape as the decision-log idea. There might be something more general here about how groups accumulate agreement instead of just accumulating meetings.

Also: mentoring Sam and Dev has been more energizing than almost anything else this quarter. Want to do more of it deliberately instead of it just happening.
